Nominating Committee Chairman Willie Tong has announced the selection of the following candidates to fill three Board of Directors’ expiring terms.
Dr. Ryan Jacobsen – 2nd Vice Chairman
Dr. Jacobsen currently works at Overton Brooks VA Medical Center as the Transition and Care Management Program Manager, supporting Iraq and Afghanistan combat veterans. He served in the Louisiana Army National Guard as a Cavalry Scout and is a Purple Heart recipient from the Iraq War. He has his Doctor of Nursing Practice from Chatham University, Master’s degree in Nursing Administration from LSU School of Nursing New Orleans, and Associate of Science in Nursing from Northwestern State University. Dr. Jacobsen partnered with BFCU in the Volunteer Associate Program from 2014-2016. He was appointed to the Supervisory Committee from 2016-2017. He was voted Chair of the Supervisory Committee and served in this role from 2017-2018, focusing on internal and external auditing practices, IT security, member business services, and fraud detection. He is active with community veteran groups, nursing organizations, and a member of Shreveport Community Church. He is married to Carly, and they have two children.
Jerome DuBose – Director
Jerome DuBose finished a distinguished 30-year Air Force career, achieving Chief Master Sergeant and serving in Major Command-level roles (top-level management). His extensive experience, evidenced by his involvement in operations from the Gulf War to Afghanistan and Iraqi Freedom campaigns, has provided him with a unique blend of skills. At Barksdale Federal Credit Union, Jerome leverages his Defense Department experience in financial management, human resources, and government agency coordination. As a board member, he plays a vital role in decision-making, utilizing his military-honed strategic foresight and governance skills. Jerome holds a Management and Leadership Master’s degree, an MBA, and a Doctorate in Business Administration, supplemented by Cornell University’s executive education in Business Strategy, Change Management, and Executive Leadership. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Bettie, and being active in the local community. Devoted to his faith, Dr. DuBose supports spiritual wellness and social unity. His expertise in business management, financial stewardship, and innovation strategy is matched by a service record of intellectual insight and commitment to societal progress.
Signed Petition Nominations
Interested members who were not nominated by the committee may be nominated by a signed petition of at least 500 primary members and must contact the Executive Assistant at 318-549-8023 for procedures, forms, and instructions.
Candidates must be willing to serve in a volunteer capacity for three years and avail themselves to educational opportunities. Completed petitions must be returned to the Nominating Committee in care of the Executive Assistant, 2701 Village Lane, Bossier City, LA 71112. Petitions will be accepted no later than 5:00 pm on Friday, November 29, 2024.
